We're NUTS Over Fall!!

Hello fellow crafters!!! Welcome back to my little spot on the web. Here is this week's design team project for Regina at The Cutting Cafe! This week we are working with a Fall theme. 

We had the choice of working with Acorn Shaped Card, Fall Word Shaped Card and Welcome Fall Printable Stamp Set. I choose to use a mix of the Acorn Shaped Card and Welcome Fall Printable Stamp Set.

My boyfriend helped me SOOO much with the inspiration for this card!! He thought it would be a great idea to add a little squirrel at the bottom of the card holding it as if he hit the jackpot! He also found a great cartoon online that had this really funny saying....so I added it as well!! It turned out SOOOO cute!!!

The three leaves layered on the top are from the Welcome Fall Printable Stamp Set. I was looking for the perfect paper for the top of the acorn and I found this awesome cork paper at Michael's. I embossed it and added a little ink to the embossing folder to give it some depth. The cork really soaked up the ink so it's a bit hard to tell. I also used Ranger Liquid Pearls oh the top of the acorn.

For the inside of the card I used a sentiment from Welcome Fall Printable Stamp Set as well as the two small acorn from the set.

I used my Spellbinders Nestabilities to cut the shape for the sentiment and inked the edges.

I really hope you like my boyfriend's and my take on the Acorn Shaped Card!! I think Regina may want him on the design team next....he's good!!! Hehe. 

Btw, it's my birthday on Thursday and he got me the Pazzles machine!!! WOO HOO!!! He's already talking about making me a birthday card with the machine while I'm away for work! HAH!!! I can't wait to see it!!! All I have to say is it better not be better then my cards or he might get my spot on the design team!!! Hehe

What Are Little Boys Made Of?

Hello again fellow crafters!!! Here is another design team project for Regina at The Cutting Cafe. This week our theme was all about boys! How fun!!

 We had the choice of All About Boys Printable Stamp Set, Funny Car Treat Box and Shaped Card Set and Overalls Shaped Card. I choose the Overalls Shaped Card and All About Boys Printable Stamp Set. Hope you have as much fun looking at it as I did making it!!! LOT'S of detail in this one!!

The frog coming out of the top pocket and the sign are from All About Boys Printable Stamp Set. I also  used several other Cutting Cafe files to create the elements of this card. The worms, bees and caterpillars are from Cute Critters Printable Stamp Set. 

The snail and the cute little puppy are from Animal and Bug Love Printable Stamp Set.

On the inside of the card I added the "What Are Little Boys Made Of" poem in a really fun crayon font!

Here is my FAVORITE part!!! I decided to complete the card by making a back to it!!! SOOOO CUTE!!!!

Again, the bees and the caterpillars are from Cute Critters Printable Stamp Set. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that Regina has the back of the bees in this stamp set!! How perfect for the back of the card!! I also added a cute little sling slot that I found online.

Back To School!

Hello fellow crafters!! Here's my second design team project for Regina at The Cutting Cafe! Our assignment was school projects. FUN!!! We had the option to choose from Bus Shaped Card Template, Apple Treat Box Template or School Borders Printable Stamp Set. I choose to do the bus shaped card. I decided to make mine an all girl school bus!!!

I really wanted to make this super girly so I made it pink and added rhinestones, can't get any more girly then that!!! So I have to point this out because it's a little difficult to see in the pictures; the tires and the black stripes are also glitter paper!! I just love that part!!

 I used a few other files from The Cutting Cafe to complete this project. I used Elisha Jean & Friends Holding A Balloon Printable Stamp Set for the girl holding the balloon and Animal and Bug Love Printable Stamp Set for the cute little puppy dog. The bus shaped card has quit a few really cute sentiments with it but I decided to use my own, "Girls Rule Back To School"!

I also used Elisha Jean and Friends A Basket Just For You Printable Stamp Set for the girls in the windows. With this stamp set I cut just the top half of each girl and re sized everything so they would fit in the windows.

This project was soo much fun to make!!  I'm just loving working with Regina!! Her files are super cute!!! I want to own EVERY single one of them!!! HEHEHE!!!

My First Cutting Cafe Design Team Project!!

Hello everyone!!! So as the whole world knows (I've been telling EVERYONE!)  I was selected to be part of The Cutting Cafe Design Team for my FAVORITE time of year, Autumn/Winter!!  This has been really exciting for me because there are some really talented paper crafters out there and I JUST started paper crafting!! For this project we were able to choose any file we wanted to work with. So here it is, my first design team project!!

I choose to work with Regina's Tall Cake Shaped Card Template. I just love how charming this file is!! It comes with some great sentiments and accessories to turn into a wedding cake or a birthday cake. You can even pick the type of frosting you want to put on it!! I used it for a wedding cake. My co-worker (Michael) got married on Aug. 31st and I decided to make it for him. This was a same sex marriage so I wanted it to have a few masculine touches starting with two grooms at the top.

I painted the white layer of frosting with Making Memories Pearl Paint as I didn't have a shimmery white paper. Worked great! I used Ranger Liquid pearls to highlight the white and cream layers of frosting and inked everything!! I also wanted a ribbon but thought that it might be too feminine, so I used black grosgrain ribbon to look like a bow tie.

I also used This Cake Is All Heart Printable Stamp Set for the sentiment. I did alter it a bit as I needed the font to be smaller to fit my tag. As I said before Michael and I are co-workers so I wanted to add that element in there as well. We work for The Art of Shaving so I had to add a handlebar moustache!!

A Cutting Cafe Nail Polish Treat Box

Hi everyone!!! My post today is a file that I got from Regina at The Cutting Cafe. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE her files!!! They're cute and they are SOOO much fun to make!!!! This one is the Nail Polish Box Holder Template. It's super cute and you get TWO different style boxes in this template, plus a few extras including sentiments! 

I altered mine ever so slightly and mixed two different files together for one project. I wanted the Nail Polish Box Holder and I wanted it to be a greeting card on one side as well. To do this I also used The Cutting Cafe Nail Polish Shaped Card Invite Set and just adhered it to one side of the box!!

Then just added the sentiment inside!

 I made this for a co-worker to give to his girlfriend for her birthday. She's a girlie girl who just LOVES pink and nail polish!! Soo...PERFECT!!!!! Hope you enjoy!!

A Wedding Card

Here's a wedding card I've made for a friend to give. I used the Assorted Card Folds Template file from The Cutting Cafe to create the card base. I didn't want the shaped edge so I cut it down a bit so that the card folded over itself on each side. The wedding is beach themed and is on the beach here in sunny Southern California so I had to add a real star fish. The card is very simple and elegant which is exactly what I wanted. I'll be adding another wedding card for the same wedding a bit later so check back!! I'm so thrilled to go, it's my first gay wedding!!!

Bootcamp LA Birthday Card!! HOO YAH WARRIOR!!!

I attend an outdoor fitness program 3 days a week called Bootcamp LA. It's an outdoor fitness program that resembles a military style bootcamp. It's soo much fun and a lot of HARD work!!! The instructors are the most amazing people I've ever met!! Truly motivating!!  I wanted to make a birthday card for Major Kerwin that was super personal....here's the end result.  

Major Kerwin was in the US Airforce and was also finished tops in the para rescue special ops indoctrination!! AMAZING!!! This also gave me lots of room for customizing!!! You'll notice I put his name patch on, the branch of Military he was in and the patch for para rescue, he even got the Major rank insignia on his collars which are the little gold things.

Now here's where it gets really fun!!! When you open the fatigues it opens up to the Bootcamp LA

T-Shirt!! Super cute right!?! Guess what??? Not done yet!!!

THEN the Bootcamp LA T-Shirt folds down into Superman uniform!!!! Sooo much fun!!! Of course, I had to dry brush in the 6 pack abs!!! I mean the Major has an 8 pack, but the 6 pack worked on the card...hehe!

I had SOOOO much fun making this card!!! Not to mention my boyfriend actually helped me with finding the correct patches and emblems!! Yay team work!!! He loved doing it....hmmm....maybe a card maker in training!! HAH!!!! I really hope you enjoy this card as much as I do!!! A Beautiful Birthday Card For My Boyfriend's Dad

This is a card I made for my boyfriend's dads birthday. It was soo much fun to make!!! It also took a really long time!!  Lots of new techniques for me. Good thing when I find a paper I like for a project I always buy multiples....hehe.  I made a TON of mistakes learning how to do this one! I just love Karen Burniston Pop N Cuts cards, they're soo much fun!!! The front door opens up to a Father poem and I really wanted to customize this card as much as possible so the address on the door is the actual address of the house my boyfriend and his sister grew up in. The amazing part is that his mom and dad still live there!! Soo much history.

Then you open the card up and find all kinds of fun little surprises!!! Like a rolled up newspaper on the arm of the chair, 2 birthday cards on the Foyer table and my FAVORITE... a framed picture of my boyfriend with his little sister from when they were kids!!!  Isn't it the cutest!?!?!  I can't wait for his dad to see this card!!!!  He will LOVE it!!!  I know I do!!!!

My Dad

Today is my late father's birthday.  He passed away Aug. 29th, 2012 a the age of 81 years old.  My father was an amazing man that loved his family!!! He had 14 children!!!  Yes folks, 14!! & I'm lucky enough to be the baby!!!  I love you dad!!! Happy Birthday!!!!  Mom and I miss you soo much!!!

My First Design Team!!! WOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!!!!

SOOO awesome!!!  I just got on my very first design team!!!  WOW!!! I will be on the design team for Regina at http://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com !!!!
